The Small & Medium Enterprise Development programme
This programme has closed for new applications from 31 August 2006 and is to be replaced by the Enterprise Investment Programme and a Tax based incentive programme to be announced. de Chalain and Assosiates is available to assist approved projects with their claims.
What is it? A programme of cash based tax free incentives applicable to most new manufacturing and tourism businesses as well as expansions of these in in certain circumstances.
Duration? Period of 2 to 3 years;
Qualifying assets: the sum of qualifying land & buildings, plant & machinery & commercial vehicles.
This scheme is available to incorporated & unincorporated businesses i.e Companies, Close Corporations, partnerships and sole proprietorships, but TRUSTS, BRANCHES & DIVISIONS ARE SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDED.
The Enterprise Investment Programme
This programme has yet to be formally announced and accordingly may be announced in a form different to that set out below.

The Competitiveness Fund
This programme is currently non operational.
Black Business Supplier Development Programme
What is it? A programme of reimbursive incentives applicable to Historically Disadvantaged Individual (HDI) controlled businesses most new manufacturing and tourism businesses as well as expansions of these in in certain circumstances.
Duration? Per approved project limited to R100000 per business entity.
Qualifying expenses : approved expenses which demonstrate the ability to enhance the competitveness of the entity.
